Once again, we are being strongly advised to remain at home to protect our health and prevent the medical system from being overwhelmed. I’m hearing from all sorts of people that stress levels are skyrocketing, along with fears for self, family, and the future of this planet. Tragically, this combination of feeling restricted, isolated, worried, and anxious is a drain on the immune system.
It wouldn’t be such a big deal if it were temporary. Clearly it is not. This pandemic is a marathon, not a sprint. If only we knew that back in March, maybe we could have prepared ourselves mentally and emotionally. But we didn’t.
Moving forward, let’s do the best we can to stay healthy and sane through this challenging time. For me, it begins with acceptance of that which is beyond my control. Fighting against reality is a constant drain of my life-force energy and weakens my body’s ability to defend itself from foreign invaders, including.
Next step? How do I make the most out of the situation? Creating maximum comfort at home, connecting with friends in any way available, sharing resources with my community, and taking extra super- good care of my health continues to be my strategy.
There are many ways to boost your immune system from home by cultivating life-force energy and managing stress. Guided meditations are a great starting point for beginners. Insight timer is a free app for sleep, anxiety and stress. There are countless yoga, tai chi, and qi gong videos available online that are suitable for all levels of experience.
Watching funny or heartfelt movies is a surefire way to take a break from doomscrolling and lift your vibration. Dancing and singing always shift my mood when I’m in a funk. Music is a powerful healing tool for whatever ails. Creative projects (the fun kind, not the pull-out-your-hair kind!) can do wonders for the soul.
If you feel like you need support from the outside, long-distance Reiki treatments fit the bill. Recipients relax at home while the provider transmits powerful healing energy from afar. Reiki has been shown to boost relaxation, and reduce stress and pain. In turn, this allows the body to move towards balance and enables the immune system to have the energy it needs to keep us well- physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
It’s a service that I especially enjoy providing as it’s so effective at getting to the root cause of symptoms and is so easy for clients to absorb. During this time of social distancing, I’m not accepting new clients for in-person sessions, but everyone is welcome for a remote treatment. If you’re sick or immuno-compromised, unable to get in to see your usual provider, or simply playing it safe, I’m here to offer support.
Please contact me if you’d like to make an appointment or schedule a free 10 minute phone consultation. Or if you have any recommendations for funny movies. 😉
