Spring Special/ Remote Reiki Bundle

Spring Special/ Remote Reiki Bundle

There seems to be a common misconception that receiving a remote Reiki treatment is some sort of pathetic consolation prize for folks who can’t make it to the office for the real thing.

Nothing could be further from the truth!

In fact, I often find the potency of a remote session to be even more powerful. As if I can plug into the energetic grid directly without having to first sink through the layers of flesh.

Sure, it’s nice to get out of the (possibly chaotic) house and enter the serenity of a professional space. To have pleasant surroundings and a comfortable place to lie down where you won’t be disturbed for the duration of the treatment. I can’t argue with that. But the environment is just the icing.

Reiki is not dependent on the setting in which it’s received.

Healing life-force energy surrounds us all, all the time. Sadly, as a modern society, we have become disconnected from nature’s rhythms and energies. That which was likely an organic and harmonious relationship for our ancestors has become estranged these days. For a trained Reiki provider, however, accessing this energy is simple and connecting it to others, near or far, couldn’t be easier.

Just as an automatic deposit into your checking account is no less valid than personally depositing a check at the bank, getting a Reiki infusion from the comfort of home is just as potent as an office visit.

Particularly for people who are too busy or not well enough to travel. You can get your medicine delivered to you, wherever you, at the times when you most need it!

Clients often wonder what they will feel during a session. That depends. How attuned are you to feeling subtle energies? Most of us have zero training in this realm. It’s common not to feel anything. For those with a devoted meditation, yoga, tai chi or qi gong practice, there might be some awareness of sensations like warmth or tingling. Perhaps not. Not feeling anything doesn’t mean it isn’t working. It just means we haven’t developed our feelers.

So how does it work logistically? That’s easy! Contact me to arrange an appointment and let me know what your goals for the session are. There’s absolutely nothing you need to do during the session itself. (There is no link, no recording. There’s nothing to see.) You can set yourself up for a period of relaxation if that feels good, or you can go on about your business. Reiki requires nothing from you other than the willingness to receive it.

I’ll connect Reiki with your energy field and open to guidance from a combination of Reiki itself, intuition, and directions from your higher self, or soul. Afterwards, I’ll send a message outlining the work I was led to do and follow-up suggestions, if any come through.

It really is that easy!

To make it even easier, I’m offering a Spring Special. The 4 for 3 Bundle. 4 Remote Reiki sessions for the price of 3 if purchased before June 1, 2023. You’ll have a year to use the sessions, so you can space them out accordingly.

Some people like to get biweekly or monthly treatments, others wait for special occasions or particularly stressful events. They could also be used as extra doses in between in-person sessions. It’s your choice, but I will just mention that consistent application is more likely to make noticeable shifts in wellness than sporadic application. Just like exercise and dental hygiene.

30 or 45 minute sessions are available.

Four 30 minute sessions = $150

Four 45 minute sessions = $225

That’s a 25% savings!

If you’d like to purchase a bundle as a gift, we can arrange that as well. I can provide a PDF gift certificate for you to email the recipient.

It’s my goal to make Reiki as accessible as possible to people who want to receive it. Next to taking a class and giving yourself daily doses of medicine (get on my mailing list if that’s your preferred route and keep in the loop about upcoming trainings), this is the most affordable option on my menu.

Remote Reiki -it’s just as powerful as in-person sessions.

Really.

Happy Reiki Day!

I’m so excited to be on the receiving end of a remote Reiki session today!!! A few weeks ago I’m was feeling pretty worn down and recognized that I needed some extra support. I remember listening to a podcast where the woman being interviewed recommended getting LOTS of support, not just the bare minimum. I chuckled to myself, and thought, hmmm… that’s what I’ve been doing! Just getting the minimum to keep going and relying, over-relying actually, on my self-care routines.

It took me a few moments to figure out what would be the most helpful. The idea of dragging myself to yet another appointment, potentially trading working hours for relaxation, didn’t resonate at all. Even trying out a new-to-me bodyworker in the neighborhood didn’t float my boat. These things are so subjective!

I’m not sure why it took so long for me to figure out that thing that would help me the most is the thing I most often recommend. Didn’t see the forest for all the tree, I guess. 🙂 I booked a long-distance session with my teacher, Laura Bruno, who happens to live 1,000 miles away. No worries. Reiki can travel. And it can bend time, so I’ve set up my session so that she can do it during her working hours, and arrange for it to arrive at 10pm. When I will be off my feet, no longer tending to busyness or business, tucked into bed and maximally receptive.

Even we caretakers need some caretaking. I seem to have taken on the role of the caretakers’ caretaker, as I have many clients who are in heavy duty caretaking roles. They come to me for support when they get depleted, or better yet to prevent getting depleted. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that I need to keep my own tank full so I can keep operating. And tomorrow morning, I will wake up with a full tank, magically restored while I was resting.

How does it get better than that?

Distance Reiki Treatments: What Should the Client Do?

This question comes up a lot. I get it; it’s an unusual situation. When people come into my office for a treatment, I guide them through a chat and then onto the table where they remain mostly still throughout the session, unless discomfort prompts some type of reconfiguration. It’s structured.

If you’re receiving a session at your own home, there can be some confusion about what you need to do as that structure is not in place.

The short answer is: you don’t need to do anything. Well… you need to be willing to receive, but that seems a given if you’ve signed up and provided payment for a treatment.

Willingness? Check. End of the checklist.

But… what do you DO? Again, you don’t need to do anything. I trade sessions weekly with my Reiki buddy and we don’t schedule the timing. She does my session when it’s convenient for her and I usually don’t know when that is. I go about my day with my Reiki receptors open and my system receives and integrates the healing energy without my conscious awareness.

If you have an actual appointment time and want to be engaged in the process, you might like to lay down and rest. Some of my clients like to set up a spa-like atmosphere and light candles, diffuse essential oils, pull out the fuzzy blankets, and/or surround themselves with crystals. This can be fun for some people, and the ritual of creating a healing space does speak to the subconscious. It’s like saying, “Hey, look at this environment I’ve created for myself. Obviously some deep healing is about to happen.” It can be very helpful to soothe the inner skeptic.

Now, if you’re getting a Reiki treatment because of anxiety or trauma, trying to force yourself to relax might not lead to a relaxing experience. If curling up on the couch in the middle of the day sounds excruciatingly painful to you, don’t do it. Perhaps you’d be better served by sitting in your favorite chair looking at the clouds. Or going for a walk. Or painting or gardening or playing with your dog. Restorative yoga might be a good choice if that’s in your repertoire.

Reiki is not a one-size-fits-all modality. There is limitless freedom to find a strategy that suits yourself and your own particular needs at the moment. If you love to meditate, but find it hard to carve out the time, you might like to take advantage of this appointment to do so. If attempting to meditate makes you feel like ants are crawling all over your skin, don’t torture yourself. Torturing yourself is unlikely to lead to healing. When I say it so bluntly, it makes sense, right? There is no “should” when it comes to Reiki.

Your nervous system is a unique entity that has been wired and rewired, connected, disconnected and rewired again based on your unique constitution and experiences. It will let you know what activities are within the safe and acceptable range for you at any moment. So if doing the laundry or reorganizing your desk helps you to feel at ease, that just might be the right choice for you. You get to decide. It’s YOUR session. Make it work for you.

Reiki for Pets

People are often surprised to hear that Reiki is an effective healing treatment for their beloved pets. All living creatures, including animals of every variety, are imbued with life-force energy. This energy can be imbalanced, blocked, or weakened through less-than-optimal conditions (such as poor-quality food, lack of exercise and fresh air, or inadequate attention) as well as through injuries, stress, and disease. Reiki is a non-invasive, holistic technique for fostering optimal wellness in animals as well as in their human companions.

Sometimes a simple one-off treatment is all that is needed to offer assistance through a challenging event such as travel. Other critters benefit from a cluster of sessions to support recovery from a surgery, illness, or disruptive situation such as the addition of a new pet. Some creatures might need consistent support to help balance out end of life issues or chronic illness.

Luckily for us all, Reiki can be administered from afar. There’s no reason to schlep the poor darlings to an office, which would likely further traumatize them and counteract any positive effects. While some practitioners might make house calls, the expense can be prohibitive. Any Reiki provider with a level two certification has been trained to use sacred symbols and the power of intention to deliver healing to wherever it is needed. No matter where your pet is, Reiki can be received with ease.

Caregivers are usually relieved to learn that they need not try to coral their pets or force them to appear in a video meeting! They only need to provide a picture of the animal, along with his/her name, location, and ailment. Reiki does the rest. It’s not necessary to get animals to do anything specific; as most pet people know, it’s nearly impossible and stressful all-around to even try. They are eager recipients who instinctively recognize the value of Reiki.

The most economical approach would be to take a beginners’ level Reiki class. In a short amount of time, anyone can learn to deliver healing energy. There is no special skill or constitution required. A Reiki Master Teacher will perform an attunement which opens the energy channels, allowing the student to access this limitless, universal energy at any time. You can literally have healing available at your very fingertips! If your pet has a serious health condition or is otherwise nervous, anxious, or simply unwell, this approach allows for daily treatments on a minimal budget.

If adding yet another daily task to your to-do list triggers a feeling of overwhelm, you’ll likely prefer to hire a professional to do the job. That’s what we’re here for! While my experience so far lies mostly with dogs and cats, there are no animals that are off-limits. When it comes to remote treatments, we needn’t worry about stings, bites, or scratches. If it slithers, swims, flies, crawls or gallops, Reiki can help support your pets’ optimal wellness.

Breaking Habitual Cycles

I’m not sure if it’s a cosmic influence on the collective, the recent article about Meghan Markle using Reiki for ancestral healing, or something else altogether that has triggered the convergence of requests I’m receiving. For the past week, almost every session has been focused on surrendering the bonds of the past and breaking habitual cycles.

Students and clients alike are choosing to let go of what weighs them down. Reiki is a tremendous resource for removing energy blockages, releasing suppressed emotions, exposing limiting beliefs, and supporting positive lifestyle shifts. Letting go of what no longer serves you is the first step in creating the life you desire. It’s as simple as setting the intention and letting Reiki do the heavy lifting.

If you desire to experience a sense of sovereignty, spaciousness, freedom, and security that comes from the inside out, Reiki can help. It can also help attract the experiences that will reflect this sense from the material world. Aligning with the energies we wish to draw to us can be difficult if we’re trying to go it alone. White knuckling through shame spirals and scarcity programming is nearly impossible to sustain long term.

Why not support yourself on your journey with a safe, yet powerful, technique? You could receive sessions from your own home with virtual Reiki, visit a practitioner’s office for a hands-on experience, or even take a class so you have access to this healing energy at will. Simply taking the first step in the direction you want to go will change your course drastically over time. Today is a great day to begin!

Refreshing Your Self-Reiki Practice

I’m often asked how one can get back into a self-treatment practice after a lapse. The simplest way is to bring your palms to press against one another in front of your heart center and invite the Reiki to flow. You could then recite the Reiki principles, sit quietly with a hand on your heart and one on your belly or anywhere else you feel drawn, or move through the traditional series of hand positions.

Reiki will always be there for you once you’ve been attuned by a Reiki Master Teacher. Luckily Reiki doesn’t begrudge your neglect and will begin to flow when asked. You might not feel it strongly at first, but the more you practice, the more natural it will seem, and the more relaxed and receptive you’ll become. You needn’t do anything more than apply this healing energy in the way you were taught, no matter if it was months, years, or even decades ago.

Another option is to get a treatment from another practitioner, setting an intention to help you ease into a routine. Sometimes just saying your desire out loud can be powerful, and having another person witness this awakens a sense of accountability. Experiencing the benefits of a treatment, at your own hands or someone else’s, can activate devotion to a self-care routine.

Yesterday I provided a long-distance Reiki treatment for someone who wanted to begin a daily self-care practice. She had taken a class years ago, but never followed through in real life. We collaborated on how to best support her goal and the result was a phone call during which I guided her through a series of hand positions, layered with affirmations, while simultaneously delivering Reiki. Somehow she managed to stay awake from this double treatment and reported a deeply relaxing and inspiring experience.

You could also retake the training if that feels helpful. I’ve received a lot of benefit from doing this myself. Even with the same teacher and the same material, I had a very different experience as I was in a different place, with a different level of understanding. As the curriculum is far from standardized, different teachers might provide entirely different content. It’s not at all necessary to repeat a class since Reiki itself can teach you everything you need to know once you’ve been initiated, but I enjoy learning, and fellow geeks will probably understand that I did it for fun as well as knowledge!

Finally, you might consider renewing your attunement. While the attunement you received during class never wears off or goes bad or gets stale, it certainly doesn’t hurt to have another. It’s rather like jumpstarting a car! If you feel the need for a powerful intervention, this is the way to go. I offer refresher attunements as a stand-alone service that could also be combined with a treatment for a super-relaxing double feature. Since Reiki isn’t limited by time or space, this can be done remotely or virtually, depending on your preference.

You have many options! I’d suggest starting with a self-treatment using the hand positions to lay the groundwork for establishing a habit of providing Reiki for yourself daily. Even ten minutes makes a big difference when done consistently. Then if you still find yourself wanting more, consider a treatment, class, or refresher attunement. There’s no shame in getting support from the professionals. That’s what we’re here for!

Now Offering Virtual Reiki!

Over the past year I’ve been repeatedly asked if Long-Distance Reiki is done via Zoom. In fact, I’ve been asked so many times that I’ve decided to offer Virtual Reiki sessions, even though Reiki doesn’t need any assistance from technology. If you’d rather pluck out your own eyeballs and eat them than attend one more video meeting, never fear, old-school long-distance sessions are still available!

I’m recognizing a growing need for people to be seen and heard. Truly listened to and witnessed. While I don’t need a camera or microphone to do sessions, I have become aware of the value of the additional comfort this can provide. I suspect there is also an issue of accountability involved. People want to know that I’m actually there doing my job and not off somewhere doing Jell-O shots and playing cards. Fair enough!

This optional adjustment to treatments allows me to add in an extra component of deep listening. For those who’d like to spend a portion of their sessions sharing about what’s up in their lives, I can provide a compassionate ear while simultaneously transmitting Reiki. For those who wish to simply state their intentions and rest quietly, that’s a choice as well.

I recently finished an Mindful Self-Compassion meditation course. During each class we would break into small groups and participants would take turns sharing about how their practices were going and the effects that were extending out into their worlds. The others would simply hold space by listening with compassion, without judgment, and without mentally preparing a reply. I got as much out of this exchange as I did from the techniques we learned! Sadly, quality listening isn’t a skill that’s taught in our culture and it’s pretty rare to have the opportunity to speak freely to a compassionate listener.

Another option is to receive coaching to tailor personalized intentions. These are simple phrases which can be used as mantras for rewriting your inner scripts, becoming aligned with your soul’s purpose, and focusing your attention on that which you wish to create. Clients often tell me how helpful it is when we collaborate and fine-tune their intentions since it’s not always clear what they want until we explore what’s happening beneath the surface. I’ve spent the past two decades crafting my own intentions and have learned a lot along the way. It’s a great joy to share this skill as the results can be so powerful.

So here I am, changing with the changing times, and offering Virtual Reiki, with or without Compassionate Listening or Intention Finessing. I’m excited to be branching out and including services that I enjoy offering and are powerful, beneficial, and complementary to Reiki. For the traditionalists out there, of course it’s possible to communicate your goals by email and receive the healing energy without any gadgets or wifi.

If you’re wondering what long-distance Reiki is and why you might wish to experience it with or without video, you can read more about it here and here. If you’re feeling psyched about scheduling, send me a message and we’ll make an appointment for you.

Are You Giving Too Much?: Shamans Cave

I was introduced (virtually, of course!) to Sandra Ingerman at a Dreamwork Summit. She approached this topic from a Shamanic point of view, which is unfamiliar, yet fascinating to me. I was surprised (but not really) and delighted to find a hefty overlap with long-distance Reiki healing. Hear her and her podcast partner’s, Renee Baribeau, view on the hot topic of sending healing to those who haven’t asked for it at The Shamans Cave.

Shelter at Home, Tip for Sanity: Get Grounded

I’m spending a lot of time lately doing remote Reiki treatments for immune system support. Perhaps the most amazing thing about Reiki healing energy is that it’s not limited by time or space, so even during this period of isolation and quarantine, people are still able to benefit from a treatment without the risk of leaving home. Clients tell me they feel less anxious and more relaxed, which translates into healthier immune systems. It’s a win-win-win situation.

What I’ve been noticing over the past two weeks is a sharp decline in clients’ groundedness. When I’m not grounded I feel spacey and out-of-sorts, flitting about constantly but getting nothing done. It’s when my energy is rooted in the earth that I’m most effective at creating positive change.

The simplest way to get grounded is to put bare feet on the earth. Given that it’s still quite cold here most days, that is not an appealing option. I’ve found that making friends with a tree can help. By leaning my spine against the trunk and touching it with bare hands, I can feel my energy patterns begin to normalize and clear thinking return. My natural connection to the earth is reestablished and I become much more productive.

Grounding is also said to reduce inflammation thereby promoting a decrease in pain and an increase in immune system functioning. It’s not my area of expertise, but here’s an article if you’re interested in learning more. There are even techno-gadgets on the market said to enhance grounding through a building’s electrical system.

I prefer the old-fashioned way. Hug a tree. Or if that feels too weird, just lean against it, make contact with your skin, and breathe deeply. Let Nature do the work and allow yourself to receive the benefits.

Reiki for Homes

I’ve been using Reiki to clear the energy in my home and office regularly for over a decade. It makes a huge difference how a room feels to me. Emotional residue can build up over time creating an energetic field that influences my personal field. You don’t have to be super-sensitive to pick this up- surely at some point in your life you’ve unknowingly interrupted an argument or a gossip session and felt wildly uncomfortable even if you didn’t overhear any actual words.

Recently I was hired to support a family moving from one home to another. The results exceeded everyone’s expectations by far! The intention in the new house was to clear any energy left by the previous occupants and to create a harmonious space that would foster creativity, growth, nourishment, safety, and pleasure.

I get occasional texts from the client reporting children writing and producing plays together and happily eating their vegetables at the dinner table. In short, parental heaven! Likely this fairy tale bliss will require periodic Reiki refreshers, but how wonderful to know that it is an attainable possibility!

In the former home, the intention was to cut any energetic ties and attract the perfect buyers who would fall in love with the house and pay a generous price. There were three offers within 24 hours of the house going on the market. Two days later, five offers, all above asking price. The next day it was under contract for $55,000 above asking price!

Now, I am certainly not claiming any credit for this; I’m just the hose through which Reiki flows. We also performed a traditional Italian ritual of planting a St. Joseph statue in the yard to assist the selling process. I’m neither Italian nor Catholic, so I can’t comment on this, but I can wholeheartedly attest to the power of ritual and belief.

We had planned to smudge the new house by burning white sage as a cleansing agent, but I got an intuitive message to instead recommend an aromatherapy spray. When I learned that the children meant to help, this made much more sense than handing a seven year old a bundle of flaming herbs! No doubt both these rituals along with the Reiki and the potency of intention combined to create the fantastic success achieved on both fronts.

Looking back, it’s clear that the moving process itself could have benefited from some Reiki mojo too. The moving truck broke down, and so did the appliance delivery truck! The family roughed it in the new home for over a week without a refrigerator, washer/dryer or heating oil. Winter weather helped in the food storage department, the fireplace saved the day in the not freezing to death department, and the memories will be cherished… eventually.

Remember the time we all lived in one room without clean clothes or home-cooked meals? Wasn’t that a grand adventure!?

This amazing experience has inspired me to offer Reiki for Homes as a service to others. Since Reiki is not limited by such silly confines as time or space, I can practice healing attunements, clearings, and releasings from afar, so it doesn’t matter where you live. All I need is an address, a few pictures, and your intentions for what you wish to create.

If you’d like to cleanse the space where you live now, a single session will likely be enough. If you have multiple teenagers, marital discord, or work a stressful job from home; maybe two. If you’re relocating, I’d recommend a package of three to include both houses and the moving process itself. $80 for one session, $150 for two, $200 for three. I think it’s quite the bargain! Mostly because I don’t have the desire to bother figuring out how to collect a commission. 🙂
