My friends, today is the equinox. Here in the northern hemisphere it heralds the arrival of autumn.

And not a day too soon in my opinion! It’s been an exceedingly long, hot and sticky summer and I’m happy to say goodbye as the wheel of the year turns.

Day and night are balanced today, with roughly 12 hours between sunrise and sunset. In Philly it’s chilly and rainy this morning and I am one happy camper. 🦆

Nature is encouraging us to let go of our metaphorical dead leaves. Rather than clinging to that which is no longer serving you, your life, your family, your community, your planet, can you release beliefs, habits, and ways of being that are outdated?

I’m not talking about a puritanical purging of the things that bring you pleasure but don’t contribute to productivity. Quite the opposite! Where are you performing independence, pushing through, burning the candle at both ends to prove your worth or hustling to earn love and approval?

Where can you let go of jobs that were never actually yours, claim space to rest and play, get in touch with your innate worth and remind yourself that Love is unconditional?

Me? I’m shedding the long-standing pattern of allowing my time and attention to be frittered away on the busy work that keeps me from my soul work.

Who says the dishes and laundry, shopping and cleaning, emails and bookkeeping all need to be completed before creative projects can be enjoyed? And do I want to continue allowing that voice to dominate my reality today?

It’s time to challenge the programming from my formative years. While my neurons may be wired that way, I’m choosing to rewire myself in a way that allows for constant evaluation of the day’s tasks based on my values rather than my conditioning.
